carminesc - u paid nothign down on a lease for ur GS?????? IS it a RWD GS 3 AWD GS3 or GS430?????? And is it fully loaded? Im shocked that your payment is lower than what they are telling me here in WY. My credit score is 720. I qualify for tier 1, not tier 1+ . They are telling me 800 / month on a 36month lease. What exactly is your lease term and amount u pay, if you dont mind me asking.

The Acura dealer is willing to give me $3000 off MSRP for new 05 RL - and thats over the phone! If i came in and "did something", im sure I could get more out of them. He quoted me 47000 + ttl. over the phone that INCLUDED wood on shifter and steering. I told him to make an apples to apples comparison im also considering the GS. Obviously being an acura rep he was telling me why I should go with the RL.

He said if you put the same car as the RL next to it, it would need navigation, XM radio with traffic, 300HP, AWD, and superior sound sysytem. He said the GS300 AWD with navigation and their mark levinson sound system, still lacks xm radio traffic, and 300 horsepower. 245 and 300 is a big difference in power. He said on the GS AWD you will pay 52,000 + ttl. He said the GS is a superb car but the RL beats it in value. It is built with quality durability and precision like the GS. You get more features, more power at 5K dollars cheaper. he said the GS is their biggest compeition right now and thats why they are willing to negotiate the RL price, not because noone wants it and they are stuck with RL's on their lot, but because the GS is expected to do extremely well with their new 06 and Acura wants to counter that to some degree. (Who knows if what hes saying is true about this as a sales pitch or not..lol) He said if you actually come in and physically do somethign serious, i can probably be willing to do more than 3000 with my mgr but not drastically more. This guy seemed to know a lot abotu the GS because he gave me a lot of info on it withouht referring to anything.

What do you guys think? Im in the decision mode now and am considering one of these three cars. By the way im not a millionaire either..lol so keep that in mind. Id liek to save money as much as possible but if its justifiable to spend more, then i can consider that. Plz give me detailed insight on what you all think.

Thanks
I'm feeling you. I LOVE Lexus cars. At present, I own an `04 SC 430 and an `04 GX 470. My prior Lexus autos were an `02 SC430, a `94 SC400 and a `99 GS300. The `06 GS300AWD intrigues me, but I'm hung-up over the `52K price-tag. You definately have to go with your gut here. If it were me and I was in your position I would wait until summer with the hope that the hype will cool-down and the chances at making a deal will be better and take a shot at getting the Lexus. Face it, you know that dealers will eventually be negotiating deals in the high $40K range on this car. Honestly speaking, at $50K + for a GS, I am now thinking of waiting for the next generation LS.

I have a feeling the next LS may not start at $56K though as it'll be an even more awesome car.

the car looks a little dirty because of a special transportation plastic which is transparent used so that dents and scratches dont happen while it is on transit, and the dust was being collected on it. this one just came in off the truck. They had one with ebony interior and it sold in less than 4 hours .

The shifter looks very weak with just the leather. but with the wood added on and on the steering..it REALLY makes both objects look extremely good. And yes, the wood they use at the dealership to add on the steering and on the shifter is SIMULATED. on the trimo f the car, it is genuine. i was VERY disapointed about that. But i have seen an RL with the wood on steering and shifter. They match it very well with the interior trim. its a very good match actually. You wont ever be able to tell it is simulated.

imagine how good this color would look on this car or any car actually if it was detailed and cleaned and all ready for an actual sales delivery.
