3GS check engine light + no cruise
Hello to all, hope you're doing better than me! Car is a 2005 (still 3rd gen) gs 430.
To add to my rust problems, today while driving I got a check engine light. Now I understand the caution light, tcs light and check vcs text are all part of the bulk deal with a check engine light, but does the check engine also disable cruise? I do have adaptive cruise on my car if that matters. Also tpms is going crazy since I don't have the sensors on currently, but that wouldn't cause a check engine ever - right?
Car behaves normally other than the pointed out things from what I can tell.
I was able to get it gone by disconnecting the battery, but it didn't take long for it to come back. Cruise did work in between which is why I suspect the check engine disables it, I just found no mention of it with a quick search! I did somehow manage to use non adaptive cruise for a bit with the light on.
I will try to get the codes read first chance I get, but I'm currently abroad for work with the car so might have to wait. Do we think I can do a lot of damage by continuing to drive the car?
Gas cap is as tight as it gets
I'd appreciate any input you might have!

TPMS will be unrelated to the cruise issue.
Cruise control along with ABS and VGRS will be disabled if the car isn't sure what speed it's doing. Usually that's a wheel speed sensor fault but you need to pull the fault codes to verify that.
One sensor fault will throw a whole load of related codes, so hopefully that will be the root of it.

Thanks for the replies guys. Finally got the codes read, it's a faulty oxygen sensor heating.. something, don't have the paper with me now. Getting the sensor replaced in a couple weeks, hopefully that'll be the end of the check engine light! Also it would make sense that adaptive cruise control is disabled with TCS and VCS, considering the car accelerates and brakes on it's own while using adaptive cruise control. Regular cruise control is still functional with the light on, so not too bummed, just need to switch it from adaptive to normal while stationary and keep it on, otherwise you get check cruise and are unable to change it.
