Tuning for 3rd gen gs300?
So Im looking into an 06 gs300, been wanting a luxury sedan with a little power to it that wont break the bank or absolutely kill me on insurance (im a full time college student). I dont like the looks of the 2nd gen even though it seems to be the popular choice cause of the engine. Is there any tuning potential for the 3rd gen? I want to know if i can get some more acceleration out of it, especially with some basic bolt ons. Ive seen people say "change the sway bars to reduce body roll" and other small mods of that nature which is good, but im looking to really open the car up a bit. Any help would be awesome.
Short answer is yes, you can make any Lexus faster.
But why would you want to buy the least powerful and least reliable version of a car, spend money (that you apparently don't have) to make it more powerful and less reliable instead of just buying one of the 5 other versions that make more power (at a similar price)?

There’s not a ton of tuning potential that’s bolt-on, or massive support otherwise. Get a GS350 if you want more performance.
The prior gen 300 2jz-ge engine is useful for heavy modding; it’s nothing overly special in stock form. It was ok in turbo form (-gte) when introduced. The 350 mill also has dual injection, greatly improving issues w/the 300 gr engine.
You don’t like the looks of the 2GS? To me, they offer all the visual excitement of a 1987 Ford Thunderbird! (/s)
