GS300 - Transmission problem
Hi, I got my 3rd gen 2005 GS300 almost 1 year ago and I absolutely love this car, however an issue started to occur during summer which seemed to have gone away after a flush of the transmission fluid, but it still occurs sometimes.
As I'm driving on 6th gear and press the pedal so that it goes down to 4th, the rpm needle bounces between 2k to 2.5k rpm. It doesn't do it every time, but it happens sporadically.
Here's a video of the issue: https://streamable.com/9pqr92
It also sometimes has a harsh downshift from 3rd to 2nd when I'm coming to a full stop but it's another sporadic problem.
I talked to my mechanic, and he said that we'll flush it again but it's best to start looking for a new gearbox before the current one dies, and it seems to be pretty hard to find a new gearbox in my country (Bulgaria).
Has anyone had this issue before and can advise on what might be causing this and what the best way to proceed is? I have a feeling that it's more of a problem with the hydro and not a mechanical issue with the gearbox itself.
Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated!
Thanks very much!

Sounds like the same issue as the other person recently. I had similar issues and fixed with the ECU repair for $150.
