I just purchased a 2006 Lexus GS430 that has a "slight" oil leak at the camshaft seal.
My mechanic tells me that the leaking oil may be dripping onto the timing belt -- causing it to slip.
Also, the leak might affect the right side, cam phazer.
My mechanic is not experienced dealing with this problem.
So, he asked me to consult anyone in this group who has encountered a similar situation. · What needs to be done?
· What steps need to be taken?
· What potential issues should we be aware of.
Given the car’s age -- we decided to replace the timing belt and the right side cam phazer.
In addition, we are going to replace the camshaft seal (to deal with the leak).
We ordered a a T-Belt Kit and water pump. A friend advised me there is a kit containing about 20 parts for this purpose.
Does anyone know the part number?
If anyone out there has experience dealing with this situation – I would appreciate any advice you could offer us.
PS: This is my first post. I just joined less than an hour ago. I apologize for any mistakes.
Thanks This is my GS 430-- '06 with 93,000 km. It's got a camshaft seal oil leak. What parts do I need to fix it and to replace the timing belt? Is there a kit? What's the part number? Many Thanks
