Default 06 GS430 Code p0761 No Reverse !?!?

So I just recently purchased a 06 GS430 with 190k miles. I know if well maintained these things can go for ages. When I purchased the car the owner told me that it needed a solenoid replaced and it was spitting out code “P0751” for solenoid A. Well anytime the check engine light came on the code never appeared, so I thought I possibly came up. Well one day on the way to work my RPMS began to boost high in low gears, then when I let off the gas it immediately dropped. Then after I drove again hours later it was normal. One day while driving on the hwy with bad traffic it was driving fine. Then as soon as the hwy opened up I tried to accelerate and heard a few loud clunks then it began to pick up. When I got home and put it in park it rolled forward and stopped hard. I turned the car on and tried to reverse and got nothing. Let it sit overnight and reverse kicked back on. Then later that same day, again no reverse and hasn’t come back yet. Now anytime I put the car in neutral it tends to react as if it is in drive. Then when I put it in reverse it gives no reaction. Now when i hook up the scanner I am getting code P0761 for solenoid C. After replacing the solenoid will my transmission start reacting normally? Or is it way more than just a fault solenoid?

Has the fluid in the transmission ever been replaced? It kinda sounds like the fluid level is not correct, or the fluid is so bad. I would do a drain and fill but I would have toyota dealer do the work or someone who knows toyota/lexus cars. The proper way to set transmission fluid is to drain the fluid, over fill it with fresh WS fluid. Then let the engine temperature get to a certain heat with a code scanner. One up to heat opening the over fill and letting the excess fluid pour it. These transmission are sensitive to fluid levels.

He said when he bought it he had to replace the trans pan and gasket so I’m guessing he may have. Hasn’t been the greatest with communication since I purchased the car.
But should I check the fluids and see how it drives before I proceed with the solenoid swap?

I would go ahead and drain and fill, and replace the filter

So I just got under the car and I think I found the problem. One of the pins looked stripped and the valve body has a crack in it. Could that be the reason for the solenoid code?

If the fluid travels to the solenoid and thats been comprimised then yes it would effect the performance of the solenoids. Weird how its cracked, maybe the person trying to install the solenoid broke it. Or maybe the car was into an accident that crushed the transmission pan, and the previous owner just replaced the pan.

Are you able to find used parts? Worst case buy a whole used transmission and remove the parts that you need.
