Reverse not functioning properly


The car still reverses, but it gets no power when i accelerate. If I hold the brakes hard and try to reverse, the rpms just go all the way up. It drives fine in D, but in select it can't shift into 3rd. All other gears shift fine. I just did a drain and fill and it didn't fix it.


When I test the stall speed for R, it just revs all the way up. The other gears don't do that. I also can't feel it shift into R like I feel it shift into D.


Code P0894 for slipping components came up but I cleared it.
Code P2714 as well for D solenoid stuck ON

This video on an is250, which is very similiar to the gs. He suggests to change the solenoid itself! So take it to a transmission shop or any good mechanic. Swap out the solenoid for a new oem solenoid, use toyota WS transmission fluid, and oem transmission filter.

I would fix the issue, before you destroy the clutches inside of the transmission.
