Hey everyone. I’ve had my GS430 for 5 years now. It’s a beautiful car with a healthy 3UZ. I listen to music a lot and I’ve been using cassette to aux to Bluetooth and it’s been eh. The sound quality is not that good and I had the whining of the cassette, not to mention the wires that have to run through the centre. I also live in Arizona so the heat gets bad and sort of affects the cassette that distorts the quality. I’m looking for a Bluetooth solution that will work. I want steering wheel controls and no wires anywhere. So far, the GTA car kit has everything I want but I was wondering if there was a cheaper option or if there’s a better one anyone else is using. The Grom solution (VLine VL2) is nice (although quite expensive). Folks have previously noted lower audio quality when using wireless Apple CarPlay, but Grom recently reported that should be fixed in the most current software updates. Definitely gets you the audio controls on the steering wheel, and no visible wires anywhere (and the ability to return to completely stock if you remove it). I'm not sure if the Gen 4 screens (2006) are the same as the Gen 5 (2007-2009), but I find the display to be fine for my needs.

I do know about the VLine 2 but like you said, it is just too expensive. Maybe one day, but I just went with the GTA car kit.

I bought and installed a headunit of aliexpress. Took less than a week to arrive, was around $200 USD but i got refunded as the dogs tried to scam me.

Has apple carplay/Android auto which is all i really want. Screen is responsive but the physical climate control buttons get stuck. If you were to get one id acknowledge the carplays great but the units are bit sheet, and DONT get one from CS-NAVI Factory Store cause they are scumbag dogs.
