Hey all, I read in a build thread that you can install an IS F series ECU in our cars (2006 GS430) and it increases power and helps the trans to shift better.
what upgrades can be done for increased power & tighter shifting?

Pretty sure the IS-F ECU upgrade only applies to the GS460, which has the same AA80E 8-speed transmission as the IS-F. I haven't heard of much for the GS300/GS350/GS430 series. The 2006 GS430 is prone to failing capacitors in the ECU/TCU module, though, and having the ECU unit rebuilt can help if your unit is affected. One rebuilding company I have heard of (but don't have any experience with) is SIA Electronics. They often discount their service when purchased on eBay.

As CruzinGS said, there is no factory TCU upgrade for the 430, only the 460.

That discussion was part of the 2nd gen GS, with the A650E 5-speed automatic transmission. Not sure if there is a similar analog for the A761E in a GS430. Would love to hear feedback, but just wanted to temper expectations before anyone starts turning bolts.

Do you know why the cruise control and radar for a 2006 gs 430 would stop working? could it be an ECU issue?
