GS 460 electrical/steering
I have a 2009 GS 460 that seems to have combined several problems. Over the past 6 months I had the electric power steering go out for just a second while turning a corner twice. Then Monday of this week I noticed my center info screen go blank and reset twice after I had run over a pot hole. Today I turned onto the feeder road and the power steering went out (red symbol came on) the AC stopped and started and the info screen blanked and rebooted. All this only lasted a second or two. Over the next 5 minutes while I made my way back home the power steering went out several times for just a second and the infor screen rebooted but the AC was unaffected. Each time this happened I could hear a click that seemed to come from behind the dash.
Has anyone had a similar experience?
I bought the car used in 2012 and it has 140,000 miles. I have never had any problems with it before this.

Well the mystery is solved. The battery tray had broken and the hold down bar was moving around when I turned or hit a bump. As it moved it would sometimes hit a terminal and short out the electrics.
I am currently looking for a battery tray for my 2009 GS 460 since Lexus wants two arms and a leg for the OEMM replacement. Does anyone know if there is an aftermarket kit or if I even need the tra.
