I swapped headlight lenses on my 2008 last year. It looked great but they fogged up, so I had to re-seal them. Here is the process:

Disconnect battery.

Remove front bumper cover.

Disconnect parking sensors, foglights, and headlight washers.

Remove headlights.

Bake 200 degrees for about 15 min. Oven has to be preheated (without the tray/rack). This melts the butyl sealant.

Clamp it while its hot.

Removed the wiring harness just to be safe.

Let it cool down with the clamps on.

Re-install. The bottom of the bumper is the most time consuming part.

Enjoy!

Here are photos from the initial time I did the headlight lens swap:

I got the lenses from facebook, but I believe they have them on ebay now. Sealant was from ebay as well. LEDs are from ALLA lighting.

Except for the ridge on the top of the passengers side lens, they fit great. I had to file the protrusion.

Light with lens removed. You can see the grey OEM sealant.

Its easy to install the LED foglights while bumper is removed.

Before and after. New lenses, LED fogs, and turned off DRLs with techstream. Also removed the amber reflectors from the corners.

Top-notch Write-Up
This is a great write-up! Appreciate all the details and pictures! I will definitely be doing this to my 08 GS350 very soon. How much did you get the replacement lens for?
