Unhappy Starter... Again!

Greetings,

I have a 1999 GS400. About 9 months ago, I replaced the started with a rebuild one from AutoZone. Today, the car is dead again. I turn the key and everything lights up but there is zero sound from the starter. No click, no nothing. Pop the hood and I can hear the starter relay engage, but nothing happens. It has been this way for a few days. On one day, I tried it and the starter engaged, but the car did not start; something that never happens. Since then, It has been nothing but silence except for the starter relay. I have removed the relay and jumped it with a jumper wire, but no joy. Just for grins, I replaced the battery too. No luck. Is there anything I should try before I replace the god awful starter again?

Are you able to measure on the starter the voltage? there is solenoid which engage the gear of the starter. there are two parts: start motor and solenoid. when people repair starter they open it and change the contacts.
I guess "Starter engage" you mean the solenoid works which let the starter axis out to engage the gears, but starter motor no spin, which means you need to get it out and try directly with battery power.
Hopefully you can update this post as days passed.
