Hi erbody

Im about to purchase a Catalytic converter for my 02 GS.....

Has any ordered a system from RA?

The got a few choices on there with HEARTS next to them which means there are top sellers.

Anyone can share the experience with any system or can recommend one..

RA? Like Rocauto.com? They have good parts, usually they have a good description and way more info than most retailers. I don’t think wrong with that route

Do you have a plan to keep this car for longer than one year?
The reason I'm asking this is because aftermarket cats are much cheaper made inside, barely enough to pass a state emissions test, and last one to two years on average. The C.A.R.B. Compliant ones cost more and have more internals, so will last a little longer, but still less than OEM (7 Years - 70,000 Miles).

RockAuto warranty statement:
E.P.A. Compliant - 25,000 Miles --> 2 Years on average?
C.A.R.B. Compliant - 50,000 Miles / 5 Years

I bought a replacement set of cats from RA. The first set was very inexpensive.399 was the cost. They failed via cracked at the manifold. I RMAed those and got full credit. Ironically RA stopped selling that set. I ordered the next least expensive set a little over 400 and had a local muffler shop swap the bad ones out and install the new set. The new set needed to be welded and bent as it did not fit exactly. The welds were not complete when I got the new set. The shop fixed it and installed it. Now I have the new set installed. I did buy OEM manifold gaskets for the new set. Hoping they last awhile. Passed inspection in TX with new cats. Next year time will tell. They also installed my Tanabe Medallion Touring exhaust, Now in business for now.

Well, buy at least a CARB Compliant one so that in a couple of years it would not be so pitiful to own it.
And let us know later how it goes. Photos with all heat shields installed will be great!

out of those I’d say Walker would probably be the best quality.

Man the previous owner welded everything and took out the rear cat, this is going to be a bigger job than I thought..

Got an API 5yr guarantee cat system brand new C.A.R.B efficient for a few hundred that going to be installed

After 3hrs the new exhaust on

Could be just me but I'm thinking the new exhaust makes the car::
Run a lot smoother
Turns on a lot quicker
Feels a lot stronger like it got more power?
No more rotten egg smell
That old exhaust really made the car run like crap based off these improvements....

Only issue now, the check engine lit was reset and came back on driving to work?

Is tis normal?

Thanks in advance

Congratulations!
For the check engine light, use an OBD2 scanner to read which codes are actual. There may be something else unrelated to the exhaust oxygen sensors.
