Default Windshield Pit Repair

Wondering if anyone has gone about fixing pits, not chips in their windshield. Have a bunch of very tiny specks all across my windshield from pebbles and dust/gravel. Don't want to get the entire windshield replaced if I don't have to.

Just wondering if there's some kinda filler or something I can buy that anyone recommends or if I should take it to Safelite or something.

TIA

I've talked to several glass shops over the years about this they all said such a repair is not possible. It is possible to polish out tempered glass wonder if this would work on automotive glass.

Thank you. I may try one of those "windshield repair kits" and see if it'll at least somewhat fill in the pits. I wouldn't mind the damage if it didn't ruin my visibility. But thanks for the help either way.

I tried that the resin won't stay in the pit it kept falling out when I cut it with a razor blade to level off. Maybe you'll have better luck. When I get around to it gonna try sanding then polishing I have a spare windshield that is pitted and scratched.

I was in the same boat… and didn’t want to have the windshield replaced. I bought some Griot’s glass polish and their glass polishing pads, and used my DA polisher and slowly polished the glass. It’s not 100% perfect, but made a big difference, especially at night - enough for me to no longer consider replacing it.
