Default Beyond Rusted!!!

Hi
look at the rust here.....
These cross members are beyond rusted..
Im order another set..
Any advice on how to prevent this from happening?
Anything advice that might be effected if I jsut remove them?
what causes this?
Appreciate all the insight

Salt is used to melt snow but it can wreck havoc to the underside of the car.

You can have your undercarriage sprayed with 3M undercoating spray.

Washing your car after the roads are salted.. Undercarriage wash.. painting bare metal.. someone went into it really well on this forum but I don't know where the thread is

That's an easy to replace part at least

It's the cost of living up North. Like Frankn said, washing the underside of the car is crucial to preventing rust. And, if rust starts to form, to sand the metal down and paint it with both a primer and a basecoat. Preferably Rustoleum.
