Unhappy Whining Noise Serp Belt Changed

Hello

Took my GS 300 to the dealer to get it looked over and schedule a transmission flush and fill..

When the called me over to the service counter, I was told my serp belt wasn't on correctly?, *(the grooves on the belt was reversed?)* not if that's even possible?
When I got this car I meant the guy at a shopping center 45 mins for him to drive to me and got there 30 mins before dude so I could see or hear anything abnormal instead of dude getting to having the car sitting waiting for me and when he pulled up talked 15-20 mins looking over car and drove the car another 10-15mins.

I never looked directly at the belt and defiantly didn't hear any type of noise *(whining or squealing)* when the car was running when I drove the car before buying and since I been driving it for a week now.

Hesitate but I say, ok change it, get the debit, pay and I'm on my way, drive home no issues and no noise just like its been since I got the car.

So today on my way to work 5a, I start car and what do I hear squealing/whining noise and Im like what the heck???

I'm thinking ok, its raining out and maybe that's the cause, so I drive to work and its gets quiet but comes back , everything seems to be working ok, except for the new noise.

Im sure the dealer will require a debit/cash or credit to fix not this issue but say its something else ARGH

Any advice on what I can do to fix this belt issue before I get over charged again be GREATLY APPREICATED.
Thanks

All you have have to say is "there was no noise before they worked on it". Stick to your guns and have it fixed.

I don't think so in the way you are thinking. Typically you want to install a belt so the words are facing out so as to read it correctly. Some believe them to be directional in a sense. I'm thinking they flipped it just to have it so the wording is out like normal. The belt is so, so easy on this car. I'm sure you got raped and I'm sorry for that. But as a tech myself, I must look into things that "wasn't like that before" all the time whether legit or not. It is normal and you have a right to have it taken care of now at no extra cost to you. Even if they won't put any parts into it, have them reverse what they did and see if the noise goes away. Funny thing is, if it doesn't go away even after that, they will have to put at least a new belt on for you. Because it wasn't making noise before, now it is. I understand the tech's frustration with this too. But it's just the way of things.

Thanks for your input,
Car was quiet I don't hear the noise. Also after reading this I went out to look and the words are facing out *(up)* so I can see them.
Appreciate the insight
