I am surprised you are giving up on the car. From the posted picture, the rest of the car looks to be in good shape. As others have suggested an engine swap would probably get you another ten years in that car. Heck if you were in my neck of the woods I would take it of your hands and change the engine myself. Mine is also nearing its end of life but not because of the engine. It still runs great with well over 500K km. Mine has issues with a few body panels at the back of the car. I purchased an HS250h in December as a replacement. The HS ride is definitely not GS refined but boy is the gas mileage impressive. I have cut my fuel costs by half. I am actually starting to appreciate this car. I no longer need a mid size car as my kids have also left behind my GS so the HS is a good size and I got a fully load version so the new stuff like keyless entry, heated/cooled seats, LED headlights and other modern touches are really nice. The only concern I have is a fear of having to replace the hybrid battery in future.
