Whats up CL?

I just sold my 96 Es300 and purchased a 2000 Gs400 w/ 51,000miles. I really dig the 300hp!! What a difference!!! Its great to see other cars in the review mirror get smaller and smaller and smaller.

I have a few questions that you can maybe help me out with:

I have some fog on the inside of my head lights which comes and goes. Can I just seal the head lights with a clear sealant? I know the warranty expires after 50,000.

Do I have to use a synthetic oil? I know its 5w 30w.

How much you guys pay for insurance? I pay $2,700 a year here in Brooklyn, NY with a $1000 deductable and no glass coverage (I have a hook up for glass)?

Thanks a lot guys. Here's a pic:

Congrats dude and Welcome to the Club.

The moisture in your headlight housing has been a problem for many owners. Some got them replaced for FREE. You should write to Corporate Lexus, since warranty expired recently. Ask Hameed...he wrote to Corporate Lexus and got them replaced after warranty expired. I believe he posted his letter in his thread...do a search...it was posted recently.

I would definitely recommend Mobil 1 Synth 5W30....most cleanest oil I've used even after 3000+ miles.

As for insurance....dang $2700.... thats outrageous!! Highway Robbery if you ask me!!

Granted I have a GS300....Full coverage with $500 deductibles for Collision and Comprehensive, Road Assistance, Funeral benefit, etc.... I pay only $900 per year (I got a clean record).

Pete

Nice Ride, what part of BK are u in?

I'm from Bedstuy, but I had my car registered in Central Islip, NY when I got it in 2001, my insurance was STILL 330.00 per month, so your actually doing pretty good!

Enjoy the car

Default Congrats!

Love the car! LOVE IT! More pictures please! As for the problem with the headlights, please call your Lexus Corp's Customer Satisfaction Line (don't know the number off hand).. I'm working with them to get mine replaced, so far, they are willing to replace one (1) headlight, I'm working on getting them to replace ALL two (2)... Read thread from Hameed!

Speaking of insurance, I cringed when I read it, but only because I know what can be. I'm paying 1,800 in NJ. Still less than the 2,400 I was paying when I was 18 for a car no where near the caliber of the Lex.

Nice car, and good luck! The moisture is a pretty common problem, as has been stated.

yo dudes!!!

I just survived the black out man!!! 27 hrs with no electricity. What a trip!!! I was actually at a mall showing off my Ninja Black Lexus. I was pulling out of the mall into a semi-freeway right when the traffic light went out. The cars were coming right at me as I was making the turn. I was like "oh god!! I just got this car. Don't need it wrecked now!!" I drove home through busy instersections while honking the horn. I made it without any incident. I put the car away in the garage and that was it. I took out the bike and used that to get things done.\

I just got the car a few days ago and didn't have much time to enjoy. Hopefully this weekend I will take it out and get it compounded. Black paint shows a lot of stains.

I will be back later. This electricy feels great. Funny how a lot of things you take for granted in life.
