Default Bought my first GS300 on eBay - need TT swap suggestions

New to the platform.

Always liked the cars since I was a kid.

I just picked up a nice lightly modded 2001 on eBay and I’m sending it to drag international in FL for TT swap and a FMIC.

Any other suggestions for under the hood mods while it’s there?

That rocks! Wish I had that kinda dough to pull that off.
But they’re the pros so I’d just ask them.

Not really, it depends what you want out of it. Do you want more power?

Well given that a GS430 has more power stock than an aristo, I see it as pointless to do a stock swap

i would lile like to see 400whp some day so I can beat my dads hemp dodge magnum. I mentioned to them to add some mods for more boost but I’d like stock turbos for reliability. They said I don’t need a boost controller etc and just suggested a FMIC.

Open to suggestions.

You will want a good free flowing 3" exhaust all the way out to get the maximum out of the stock twins. Not sure if that was already part of the plan.

i think they need to fab a custom down pipe to do the swap? Not sUre. That’s a good suggestion. I’ll make sure it has a decent down pipe setup so when I want to do the exhaust it’s already in there.

Any brand and make an exhaust or would it need to be custom? A lot of stuff just isn’t out there anymore for 20 yr old cars

I'm not sure hot deep your pockets are, but why not go single turbo now while they have it there at the shop? The way I see it, you're getting a motor from Japan with unknown miles and condition, and the same goes for the turbos. If one turbo fails, then your car will still be down, so in theory it's like you have 2 "issues" to worry about rather than one single turbo swap. If that's not an option, I would at least have them pull the turbos and inspect it (for whatever couple hundred bucks it would be, and if they can even do it in house). Other than that, I'm not sure how extensive their maintenance is prior to swapping, but also make sure it's been brought up to change all gaskets, seals, belts, and etc... If not already included. One other thing not mentioned, is possibly an intake for the turbos.

I don't doubt these guys know their stuff, they crank out so many of these cars/swaps and they're known all over for it.

Any update? I called Drag a few weeks ago also. Actually called a few different places for the swap. I'm wanting the same setup as you basically. But after changing my exhaust its hard to give up that V8. Looking forward to the pics.

Found a nice used 3" exhaust from a guy on facebook for $300, I'll be installing it myself so i can say "built not bought" lol ...

I still havent had the car shipped to FL from the sellers house since I am travelling, but the time is coming soon to set that up.

This is kind of complicated since I dont have the car registered and Drag wont let me have the car there for more than a couple days after it's done. SO, I need to work out getting it to the DMV before I get it to DragInt for the build, so I can drive it home. Also can't have it at my complex with no plates.... I will probably have it sent to my complex and get plates on it then drive it down to DragInt and stay overnight with a friend while they build it. Sounds crazy to me but, it just might work.
