Default Put the wrong key in the ignition

Hi! The wrong key was accidentally put in the ignition of my 98 gs 300 and not the key won't turn to start the car. This has happened before and I disconnected the battery and it worked but then again same thing happened but this time I locked the the doors and then unlocked it using the key in the driver's door and it worked but now neither ways I've tried before has worked so far. My key fob doesn't work and the steering wheel is unlocked.

Sorry I can't help you with the actual problem, but how do you put the wrong key type into the ignition twice? These aren't like old GM keys that you could mistake for a house key.

Quit trying to drive drunk out of your mind.

Ok. This may sound funny, but it has worked for me before. Insert the correct key into the ignition and vibrate it with an electric toothbrush or something that buzzes pretty good. When you insert the wrong key into the ignition sometimes the pins in the tumbler get stuck in the wrong place because of dirt and wear. I have also heard of people being successful spraying WD40 into the lock and the pins loosening up. I don't like oil in lokcs though.

The Lexus key is a two-side internal cut... can't imagine how many keys would even fit in there.

Might be time to involve a professional locksmith.

Definitely you must need to involve a professional locksmith to fit those keys there.

Lightly turn key in the ignition while wiggling it in and out to try to engage all the tumblers. Don't put any fluid in the cylinder except WD40, WD40 will dry up after used. (Tip from a locksmith)
