Should I fix or replace
This happen to me coming home from the grocery store. One of the bearings seized & the belt slipped off & the car jumped time and cut off in my driveway. I'm thinking either try to fix it or replace it with another motor. 3rd timing belt job & the car has 270k on it. Engine and trans still strong and ultra quiet. Chime in & tell me what you think.

sorry to see this...
To verify motor damage, replace the bad bearing and put a timing belt on and start her up to see how she runs.
Very slight possablity that you get away with no internal damage...
I've had a similar situation; he's the thread with video 3UZ Timing Belt carnage...,and we went with a used replacement motor.
Good luck...

I wasn't driving under no heavy load or anything. Me and my kids were pulling up to my house. 1st the heat stopped working and then i noticed the temp guage going up. Then I was smelling a burning smell then she shut off. I 1st thought serpentine belt. Popped the hood and the serpentine belt was fine. Then I thought it was the water pump that seized up. I discovered that it was the bearing after taking it apart. Soon as I pulled off the cover bearings statted falling out
