2jz-gte swap questions
Yeah I'm trying to part out everything on craigslist. The motor had rod knock at 127k miles due to poor maintenance on part of the previous owner, but the transmission is still good at 127k. I can't really ship stuff that big obviously. Sucks since it's not a common car, not much demand, I might try selling the sensors and small parts on eBay. Also the timing belt on my GE is less than 3 years old with maybe 20k at the most on it, and if it breaks, no big deal since the GTE is non-interference (other than the fact that I'm stranded of course).
1) I'll be swapping into 99 GS3, can you confirm that A/C will work? Do I need to swap the compressor from GE to GTE?
2) Is the Walbro 255 the best way to go? Do you know anything about AEM 320 and other brands?
3) Will the speed be limited to 115 miles and how to remove to limiter? I've been reading about pulling VSC fuse out for that.
4) Have you tried Toms or Mines ECU? How much power they add realistically and will they remove the 115 mile limiter?

2. Since I did my swap the easiest way possible, I used an Aristo fuel pump assembly with the stock pump that I got off eBay, since I didn't plan on going big power any time soon. You'd have to ask someone who has used different pumps.
3. I'm 99% sure that the speed is limited to around 180 km/h and that pulling the VSC fuse doesn't change the fact since it's already disabled in the swap anyway (unless you get a JDM traction control ECU). I haven't tried going above 180 km/h for safety reasons and legal reasons. You can get an HKS Speed Limit Defencer Type 2 for around $150 to disable the limiter.
4. Have not tried a Tom's or Mines ECU but I heard they disable the speed limiter and stock fuel cut, and give you 20-25% more power since they are tuned for more boost. I've heard the stock JDM twins can handle up to 17.5 PSI before you start shortening the life of them or risking damage as they have ceramic turbine wheels.

1 AC will work. As long as it was working before it will work after the swap.
2 The Aristo pump and hanger is the easiest solution to get the swap done. On stock twins you will not run out of fuel unless you run high boost.....and then you will have other issues.
3 HKS SLD2 is the only way to bypass the speed limiter.....other than an aftermarket ECU or Toms etc.
4 Some Toms ECUs have the limiter bypassed.....all depends on what it was programmed for. Most I have seen will give you about 20% more power with the supporting mods!
Is the speed limiter only a thing on the Japanese ECUs? I've been past that with my stock GE before
...that last part kinda sounded dirty...
Anyway, I'm thread jacking...sorry OP...
