Just a quick dumb question my oil level when my car is off is an warm, it reads just right below the full line, but when I turn the car on the car reads that there is no oil in the engine.

Are you confusing motor oil with tranny fluid?

You never measure the oil when the car is running. The oil level on the dipstick is only for when it's off.

Every car is like this. You are just realizing this?
