I wouldn't call it rare, just not something people would cheap out and buy

they aren't very common at all. my good friend had one and when he got in contact with the original owner he stated that he ordered it that way new from the dealer. as you can see they come with no sunroofs just like the aristo.

Not common but not super desirable by most people either.

Really unpopular in Western markets because people expect leather in a 60k luxury car, which is fair. More popular in Japan because they're more practical about things, and Lexuses are just pricey Toyotas after all. Leather is a pretty terrible seating material except for the look and smell. It's hot in summer, icy in winter, requires maintenance, is expensive to repair or replace, and scratches easily. I was actually surprised when I found out that cloth was an option for North America; I have never ever seen a cloth-optioned Lexus of any sort.

Wouldn't mind cloth... better wicking of moisture... rain, sweat, etc. And cooler. I just got "stuck" black with tan interior, so I took what was available. Believe if you go the $1k new-interior route, you can get any material you want.

I HATE the itchy feel of cloth seats. I haven't had cloth seats since my first car 15 years ago. That being said I wouldn't mind faux leather, vinyl, suede or similar; just hate the potato sack feeling of the cloth seats, it's all personal preference. As for rarity, yeah, I bet there were less than 100 cloth seat cars EVER made by Lexus in the US, like any model ever...

Edit: Maybe the Canadian versions of Lexus had more cloth options for obvious winter reasons?

I actually recently saw a 2010 or 2011 RX350 with all cloth interior, definately was a weird look and I'm not sure who in their right mind would spend that kind of money on a New Lexus to get seats that look like they belong in a much cheaper car.

I have seen a few 1st gen IS300's with cloth seats here in Canada

What I don't understand is the new Nuluxe stuff. Not even real leather and I've seen plenty that seem to be wearing as badly or worse than real leather. I remember when I was shopping for a new car, I noticed the demo IS350's with Nuluxe had more wear on them than my GS and the demos' were only a few months old.
