Unhappy GS Heater not working

Hello all. I am having a problem with my heater in my 02 GS300 (~86000 miles). A few days ago I realized my heater wasn't working and a friend said it was probably the coolant so I had my fluids refilled as I got an oil change. The next day I warmed up the car and all it would blow was cold air. Then an hour or so later it started blowing air that wasn't cold or warm. Now it occasionally doesn't even blow anything out of the vents. Any thoughts or ideas about this? Not really savvy with cars, but I would like to learn more about my baby. I'll probably take it somewhere for a diagnostic, but I'd rather not pay for that. Any help is appreciated.

Cool, thanks for the help! I'll check out the DIY see what it would be like to fix it.

PITA to get to it I'm assuming? I'll ask a shop for a quote and maybe will just bite the bullet to save me time and effort.. It really doesn't look that bad from the videos I've watched

Little bastard's aren't cheap either, they are at least 100 bucks a pop. I've rebuilt them and cleaned the contacts with about a 50% success rate.

Sorry to stray off-topic, but are the servo's known to fail more on the 01+ models? From my years on the board and from experience it seems like not many 98 to 00 models had them fail in comparison to the 01+ models.

My friend said it could possibly be the thermostat in the engine. The weather is 54 degrees outside on my phone but it says 64 degrees on the climate control display. When I put it on Auto Mode it wants to blow cold air at me.. Might just take it to the dealer because I need heat ASAP, Maryland winter is no joke.
