Crank and sputter, no start, Ideas?
So I bought a non running 2000 GS300 that I am going to do an Aristo swap on. It has sat for the last year as previous owner couldn't get it to run. Before I do the swap I wanted to get it running so i am not trying to chase down issues not related to the sawp. So far I have had it fire up and idle very briefly a couple time but most of the time it just cranks and cranks and wont start.
First thing was I drained all the old gas and put fresh 91 octane in it.
Then I replaced the fuel pump and sending unit as someone had tried and broke the sending unit and zip tied it back together.
I have replaced the PCV valve and all the damaged or missing vacuum lines I have found.
I checked the security light and it stays off. No check engine lights or codes. I assume it has spark as I mentioned it has fired up a couple times but not for more then a few seconds and nothing more then idle even when mashed to the floor.
Any suggestions would be great.
Thanks!

One thing I did just notice the yellow oil light next to the check engine light is on. I have checked the oil level and it is actually slightly over full. I am guessing possibly a bad oil level sensor? Would this keep the vehicle from starting?

Test the following:
fuel pressure,
injectors (need to flow test them as they may be partially clogged)
check spark with spark plug tester and also spark plug condition
ECU could also be bad as there's no codes, swap it for a known good one if you have access to another one.

Also car sat over a year with no battery so as far as no codes go I would imagine that would clear them and i haven't got it to run long enough to set anything new i would imagine.

If it cranks over and shuts off after a second it could have detected multiple misfire and shut down. This could be spark plug, coil pack, pig tail harness and wiring issues.
If it seems like its turning over but then catch and stalls or freeze during cranking then its likely a timing issue, could be crank sensor, crank gear, cam sensor, or even fuel injectors.
Also make sure the water temp sensor is connected on the head. If it's not connected then the ecu will not know whether to run open loop or closed loop. will affect amount of fuel.
