Hi All,

Can anyone post the factor service manual, Electrical Wiring Diagram pdf document for the standard grade audio system for 2001 or 2002 model year?
It must be 2001-2002 GS300 or GS430 to do me any good.

I already have the correct document for my car, which is a 1999 GS300.
For my car, the document is called RADIO AND PLAYER (EXCEPT NAKAMICHI).pdf, so it is probably named similar.

The radios in both cases are very similar, both Pioneer, and look almost identical.
However, they are definitely different part numbers, and have different wiring harness connectors on the back.
I suspect they have good wiring harness compatibility, if a connector adapter is custom made for it, but I have to see the connector pin outs.
I want to adapt a 2001-2002 year model Pioneer 86120-3A521 (KEX-M8406ZT) into the 1999 car, which has Pioneer 86120-3A520 (KEX-M8076ZT).

Why do this?
Because the Pioneer 86120-3A520 seems to have an inherently defective LCD display.
The component lifetime is short, and most of them are dead nowadays, blank, but the audio still works.
I think Pioneer found this out with accelerated lifetime testing, and fixed it in the 86120-3A521 model.
The newer model is an exact drop-in replacement, except for the harness connectors.

but now looking over what you are trying to do, I do not think you will be able to get a 2001+ GS stereo and plug it into older GS.
It was not just the stereo that changed, it will not be plug and play.
Connection plugs are different as well as the Amplifier and CD changer etc. The connections at these are also different.

Guys - Thanks a whole bunch - that's just what I needed!<br /><br />A couple of questions...<br /><br />specONE - yours says 2001 in the document, so that's clear.<br />Radio%20And%20Player%20(Mark%20Levinson)%20(Part%204) is in the title.<br />Do you think that means IS Mark Levinson -or- does it mean EXCEPT Mark Levinson ?<br /><br />My car is not the upgrade level Nakamichi, just the ordinary grade, so I'm hoping the later ordinary grade is mostly compatible.<br />I can imagine that the upgrade level 2001 Mark Levinson might have significant differences.<br /><br />TW99GS300 - do you happen to know which specific year, and (upgrade / not upgrade) your document applies to?<br />It doesn't say inside. Mine don't either, but the zip title did say the year.

specONE - nevermind, answered my own question. It's both, on different pages. Cool.
