Greetings Lex Lovers,

I have a 1999 GS-300 i noticed at night when i turn my headlights on everything inside my car
illuminate's ex. dash,radio & temp controls everything except for my hand gear shift panel is there a
light bulb that goes there to illuminate that panel?

It is illuminated next to the gear shifter when I turned on the headlamp. Sorry I don't have a shop manual to tell you where the bulb is located.

 

Try removing the center panel with the wood and then you'll see the whole shifter assembly I remember seeing some tabs that can be removed and the light should be under there ,maybe maybenot it's worth a shot

yeah there's a bulb by the shifter.. I had to take the center piece out so I could put a boot over the bulb to make it Blue... If you want to get to the bulb you have to take out the ashtray and take off the shifter, then after that's out there are clips on each side of the big center piece but the clips are inside where the ashtray used to sit.. Take care of the clips then pull the that big center piece forward, it should move right out. Make sure you disconnect the wires also from the ashtray and also you have to shift from out of park so the piece can be removed becuase if it's not then the shifter will be in the way.. After you pull the center piece out you'll see the bulb... It's a little tiny bulb though and I have no clue of the size.. I hope this helps, and also I hope it makes sense...

 

Not really..but that's what the dealer is for i guess...

Maybe easier to bring a flashlight?
