Default Rollover valve replaced. Gas smell gone, P0441 P0446 still there

I replaced my rollover /cutoff valve since I had a gas smell by the passenger rear door. Gas smell is gone, but the 2 codes are still there, P0441 and P0446. I got a new OEM gas cap just in case since its a cheap part. Still those 2 codes. What else should I replace/check, vacuum leaks, VCV?

From my searching some have said the VCV (vacuum control valve)

Not sure if this means anything, but most of my cars have a vaccum sound when releasing the gas gap at fill up. This car does not.

thoughts?

Usually its the purge valve on the charcoal canister. Pretty common...

dumb question.. you DID clear the code after the replacement right?

I had the 446 and 441 for a good 4 years, after I replaced it, the 446 went away. However, the 441 stayed. I found a vacuum hose popped off on the far back bottom by the fire wall due to the valve being closed and no where for it to vent...

Mr. Jokster,

Do you have any diagramm or pics of where is located this vcv, please.

Thanks in advance.

Check ALL your hoses under the hood and make sure they're not loose. P0446 code is usually the VCV that's at the rear of the car around the spare tire well and that part is $25 ish from rockauto.com. I had the same code and after doing research, bought the part and had it replaced for around $100 for the labor.

And here's a coupon code for rockauto

I have a 98 GS400.

Mr Jokester, yes codes were cleared. I have the software for my laptop to read and clear codes.

I will check the vacuum lines, purge valve and VCV and report back.

Mcon, in this image they have it listed as the VSV valve. Its located on the charcoal canister by the fuel tank.
