Omg !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There is a Tom's supercharger on ebay right now for the 1uz and 3uz. somebody buy it. It's a measly 2,400. And its in Russia. "Supercharger Toms For Lexus LS430 GS430 GS400 1UZ 3UZ".

Well, now's your time to shine, badblackgs. Go for it.

badblackgs 02-15-16 08:47 PM

Not a fan of the magnetic clutch on the pulley. I feel it takes away from coolness of the supercharger. at the bottom of the ad, it states the ecu comes with it. I'd like to see someone else pull the trigger on it. Im on track to install my supercharger this weekend. i finally worked out all the small details so install will be a breeze. (hope that statement doesn't come back to bite me)

A supercharged LS430 would be great, a real sleeper

This COULDNT have popped up at a worse time...... I would kill to have this on my LS.

The TOM's unit sucked and made very little power, especially for the price of it, it had rareness and coolness points though

Uhh... that dyno chart shows 260kw aka 349bhp starting from 4k to redline, and makes significantly more power all along the curve. That's not a monstrous amount, but it's not 'very little'. Not to mention that torque curve; RIP tires.

Believe me, if I had that kind of dough, I would be allllll over that. Great setup.

Years ago they were closer to $6k-8k used and noone bought them except the SC430 people. also the RMM SC people made that power WITH supporting mods, i would be surprised if they ACTUALLY make that kind of power off just the SC. not to mention the OEM GS430 makes 330ish factory (not to the wheels) and i assume their HP rating IS to the wheels so your making what 70-80 hp from it for $2400 (if you install it yourself and nothing goes wrong) yeah NOT worth it. i have that kind of $ and i wont want it.

HA, after doing some research on it, it appears the TOM's makes about 65-75 HP, yeah def worth $2500

my proof

MANY, MANY people have made that power with the RMM and supporting mods

Plus the plenum is not included and super hard to find

i thought the Tom's kit you just removed the upper intake plenum and mounted it directly to the lower intake plenum, is that not the case?

you are correct, it just sits on top... no hood modification required...

i guess there is a cool factor and rareness to having it under the hood... for dollar/hp you better off running nitrous...

yeah i saw several of the SC members mention that... firelizard, keep in mind,NEW this kit was $10k-13k and although that seems like a fortune it was aimed at older people who still wanted some extra power and to keep their reliability when buying a NEW SC430 which was super high when they came out also, these people were probably not sweating $10-$13k. NOWADAYS they just arent worth much to have because they just dont make the power for the price

Plus this kit is FAR from complete. Its the roots charger, belt, ecu, and IC.
This was funky design with the IC water\air cooling that required you to tap into the cooling system of the car and it had a clutched pulley so you could choose when to engage it.

All in all a nice kit when bought new, but with no brackets, intake elbow, cooling hoses and fittings it would take a skilled mechanic to sort it all out and get it working.
And then for what 75HP>?

no intake elbow needed, unlike the Greddy kit it just used the factory intake elbow OR you coul fabricate a elbow to make a intake but thats not really a big deal, hoses and fittings are also easy to acquire and i dont believe this particular kit needed any brackets unlike the RMM kit and what not but yes NOT worth 75hp. NOW with headers/intake/exhaust you could easily see 100+ hp even more with cams/etc

I'm sure trying to install a smaller pulley would be a monumental undertaking. unless you just did away with the clutch and pressed on a smaller pulley. Regardless of what everyone's opinions are on this topic. I think we can all agree that "you have to pay to play".
