Hello everyone. I have a 2001 GS430 and when I press my finger anywhere on the display everything goes blank. Does anyone have this issue? If I tap on it again it will come back on.

 

Is your GS equipped with stock navigation?

Could be the HU is shot and needs to be replaced or some faulty loose connection, but I am most certain the unit will need to be replaced.

You can get them cheap on Ebay.

Just be careful with the radio that you look on eBay or any where?? Look your cassette door right side on your radio that there have a P letter and 4 numbers. Also, if you pull out your radio, the part # of the radio is on top of the radio. That way you have the idea to match the correct radio with your radio and also you know you are buying the correct radio for you car. I know for sure that all GS300 2003 to 2005 front door have P1740 and part # is 86120-3A522. No the (Mark Levinson unit) This one have different numbers. Years before1998 to 2000 I believe come P1718, part # 86120-3A21, also, P1723. Make sure a 100% what are you buy. Radio P1740 have extra future on the Radio, I don't remember right know but is part of the settings for more power or something like that when you do the audio settings. I have extra Radio P7140. Let me know if you found one cheaper on eBay, because the more cheap was $59.00 but the LCD screen is bad. The next good Radio is more of $200.00 Good luck. keep us with up date.

No biggie. I replaced my LS HU and a few others with OEM ones from Ebay with no issues. Simple plug & play.
