Low miles 1999 GS300 stopped running
Hello-
My dads 1999 GS (75,000 miles) stopped running. I had been driving it for a year with no problems. Then it was garaged for a month or so. Tried to start and it wouldn't turn over. Figured battery was dead. Jumped it, got it running and drove on freeway for 30 minutes. As I was pulling it back into garage, the car died. Tried to restart, but it didn't even turn over. It was like the battery was completely dead still. No radio, no lights, etc. Could it be a bad battery, or is this the signs of something else?
Thanks.

If it dies while running and won't restart with dead electronics, it's probably the alternator. Once the engine is running, the battery doesn't do much but get charged. With a dead alternator, the car will run off of the battery until it depletes the charge. Never hurts to test the battery, though, as the battery could also be bad.
