Default Nakamichi

Hi guys, my Nakamichi amp is acting up (2000 GS) with speakers cutting out, coming back. Is there any point getting a used one? I did a search and found a post where someone figured out which speakers are for which wires going into the amp. Can I get an aftermarket amp to replace? I hate the idea of putting an aftermarket system in because I want the car to remain as OEM as possible. Any thoughts or experiences?

Ill look and see if I can get the pinout, I used to have it. Probably can use an aftermarket amp, but likely won't sound as good. The Nak amp is a great sounding one. I have to fix mine (one transistor is cracked, goes intermittant at times).

I can take a look at it if you want to send it and cover postage and parts. I can test in my car. (98 GS4).

Did you ever find the pin out schematics? You wouldn't happen to have the schematics for the Nakamichi amp itself would you? My driver's door speaker cuts out and comes back on intermittently and would like to know if it's a simple fix or not. I've never worked on amps before, but I have 3 years of soldering skills so I'm not afraid to get in there.

My speakers don't cut-out, they fade-out/in. Happens on fm, and, and cd-changer. Sort of like an old-school AM receiver, with a weak signal.

Trying to identify if it's the head-unit, or the amp.

Anyone?
