Default Is it possible????

Hi im new to the forums and my dad is buying me a 1998 + GS300
And my brother works at a car shop so i was woundering if its possible since i read a few people bought the nav system from a Lexus dealership and had it put in but in there GS 400's
So what i was woundering is if i get a 1998 or 1999 or 2000 Lexus GS 300 would it be possible to buy the Lexus Navigation system form a dealership and have it installed is that possible?? price doesnt matter

you can do anything when money isn't a issue.... And since it seems as though you have money to spare would you mind buying me a new exhaust system?? Mine is dirty and I need something new.... Oh, and Welcome to the Club....

Like mrsypher said, when money isn't an issue anything is possible, but why spend 3-4 k min to do that when you can apply that money to a car that has it already?

Practically speaking though, I think the GPS antenna was/is built into the back window of the GS, so if you r car doesn't have it you'll need to get oneo of those too.

Oh yeah Welcome to CL.

The GPS antenna is mounted on the rear parcel deck. An aftermarket antenna is only $30 or so.

I got the NAV system, and everything is so tightly integrated, that I wish I hadn't now. I'd would have much rather gone the aftermarket route, and had far more options...

Done this a few month back, see info on my webpage
if you supply the nav equipment, i can build the system for you (don't forget, these are retail at 5K each, so you are looking at 10K w/o installation)

For the extra 5- 10K it's going to cost, why wouldn't you just buy a GS with factory navigation OR put an aftermarket Navigation system in the car? IMO, doesn't make sense to retrofit unless you're a guru like BananaGS and can do it all yourself (and want to).

EDIT - I split off a discussion of aftermarket options CLICK HERE to view it
