I changed both o2 sensors but the codes wont go away....the check engine light i didnt reset, thinking it would deactivate on its own. Wasn't sure what I should do.
Found a few threads on this topic but nothing confirmed as a fix.
You gotta clear the codes. Just unplug the battery cable for a bit. After 3 drive cycles if the light doesnt pop back up, you're good to go. If it does come back on, you can try running the car a bit hot for a while. You can do this by putting a piece of cardboard in front of the radiator, be sure to monitor your temperature levels at ALL times so you dont actually OVER heat. This will run the cat hotter and possibly burn out enough to clean it out a bit.
The gaskets are a very frequent cause of the 0430 code. Had it myself a few years back, rear gasket on the cat was leaking throwing off the reading at the o2 sensor.
