Default i got the wrong size tire...

Soo, i went to get a tire for my spare rim.. And saw that my driverside rear tire had really bad wear.. The belt and metal were showing and was about to pop. So i told them to just replaced the bad one and i would get a tire for the spare later.. The tires on the rear were 275 30 20 and appeared to be "stretched" And i didnt like how low of a profile the tires were so i decided to get them a little bigger.. So i went with a Pirelli p zero 285 35 20... Now the tire is so big it looks like im running drag slicks! And the tires almost tuck! The front wheels have some poke so i got spacers for the rears but they wont fit because the tire is so wide! It gets very close to the fender.. Luckily i got the tire for 30$ and i can just Use that as my spare.. if i want to keep the stretched look but have a higher profile i should stay with the 275 width right? And go with 35?

do you know how the tire sizing works? sounds like youre just guessing. if you do the math then you could have figured it all out. also, theres tire calculators that have pictures to give you an idea of how it would look

but yes you could have just went with a 35.

You could have simply gone from 275/30 to 285/30 to get it a lil wider and will still fit. Going 285/35 is way too tall for the GS.. Is good if you Read on tire sizing or use a tire calculator to understand your "Rolling diameter" with in or near specs..

As mentioned above, take 10min to read about how to read tire sizing.

If you wanted a tire that was slightly wider and slightly taller, you should have gone 285/30/18

275/30/18:
10.83" wide
24.5" tall

285/30/18:
11.22" wide
24.7" tall

285/35/18
11.22" wide
25.85" tall

Also, keep in mind that each tire brand will have variation. Typically the Asian brand tires will run narrow. American/european brands run wider.

Personally, I think your car looks better now than it did before, but that's just me.

he's got 20's not 18s..

Stock Rolling diameter range is 25.4" (17's) to 25.8" (16's & 18's)

For Rear
275/30-20 is 26.5" is the usual "Fat setup"
285/30-20 is 26.7"

285/35-20 is 27.9" Too tall - it will Rub no doubt..
