Default Dash Removed ..Problem with re installing steering column

Rebuilding my interior in my 00 GS300

and facing a problem with steering column..

After removing it, I am trying to get it to align again with the 4 studs and it simply will not retract enough to reach these studs

any ideas?

Need your help ASAP! !!

I yanked mine a little and used a car jack to level out the joints...it took me a while to figure it out

Finally returned back to the project...here are some pics

But none the less, basically use a car jack and mount it under the steering joint and then pull??
