thought id post it here since this motor will eventually be for a gs
im looking to buy a motor out of an is300 just to have in my garage so that i can make myself more familiar with the 2jzge.the motor is still in the car and running unfortunantley i dont have room for the entire is300 in my garage(2 gs3s are in there) so i have to take it out.i was looking over it and saw these on both sides of the cam gear cover one by the ps pump and one on the opposite side by the alternator any know what they are?obviously missing the hose but where does it go on my gs's its a vaccum hose that goes to the air box but on the is300 motor i cant seem to find anywhere a hose woud go?

i believe they are lines for vacuum hose, some cars the vacuum hoses are plugged to one another, on mine, they are capped.

Turn on the car and see if you hear a hissing noise by any chance, have a friend rev the car a bit and feel around the nipple to see if there is a vacuum. It really shouldn't, all that is, is an unused line. Just cap it up with some rubber, it should come capped up from the dealership when the car was manufactured. Its not hurting anything, nor affecting performance.

if you look at a 98-00 motor, you'll see those ports in use. 01+ does not use those ports.
