So ever since I got my 98 gs300 I've always had a problem with the key turning off the anti theft system . I insert the key and the red security light won't turn off unless I switch it back and forth a few times till the light goes away then it would start but until then it won't start it will crank but won't start . I've taken it to a lock smith and they told me the chip in the key is fine so I'm out of ideas . Can anyone help ?

 

I believe i am also having this problem. I read that the ignition gets worn down after a bit and that could be the issue.
