Default Creakin Seats

I don't know if any of you have had this problem, but it is really starting to annoy me. When I take corners hard or when I accelerate of the line my seats creak, and it is driving me crazy. I've moved the seat around and sometimes that will help, 200 miles later, gots to move it around again. Is there something I can tighten or is it something I have to live with. It's a 98 and I am 2 bills, so I don't think weight is a factor. You know it's nice to have a quiet and peaceful inside cabin without it sounding cheap.

Check the bottom portion of the seatbelt assembly (the clip assembly, attached to the seat). I had the same problem w/ the creaking noise. Turns out the screws on the assembly were loose. After my dealership tightened them up, no more noise.

G4Titan -

Did you ever get that seat clunking sound fixed?

I had that problem for about 2 months....but it got worse within the past week....it drove me NUTS!! It seems as though everytime I accelerate or make a hard turn... my driver-seat made a "clunk" sound (felt like springs in the seat cushions broke and gonna pierce thru the leather to poke me in the @$$). LOL!!!

Anyways....my dealer told me it'll take 2 weeks for an appt....I couldn't wait...so I decided to disassemble the driver-seat myself. I was able to locate the problem in a few minutes after unmounting the seat ....there is a hex screw that was completely loosened and dangling...the hex screw was trapped....there wasn't enough a gap for it to fall out to the floor of the car.

Anyways...this hex screw secures the seat cushion to the rail system... it's located behind the seat control buttons. It took me 1.5 hr to locate the problem, unmount the seat, remove the control buttons and unit, just to get to that hex screw, and then finally to re-install everything.

If I can do this...anyone can. Just need the right tools (14mm socket, phillip screwdriver, hex bits, and some patience). Good luck.

Pete

My seat is solid now.....No more clunking noise.
