Brake fluid bleeding help needed
I'm prepping to bleed my brakes after my LS400 BBK. I've got stainless lines that I've installed on all 4 corners. I have a motive power bleeder. Can someone enlighten me on the proper way to use the power bleeder to bleed the 2GS system? I've done some searching and read that they key needs to be in the "on" position in order to bleed the rears. Thanks in advance.
i just went through this myself but not the rears. I was told just put the key in the "ON" position for the rears.. The fronts are Key off, 40 pumps to prep the system, then turn key "on" listen to master cylinder run its course when thats done turn key "off" then start bleeding..
to bleed the brakes you will have the car one and then have someone hold the pedal down while you open the bleeder for the rears and it will come out as a steady stream and the you close it and then go to the next one in the rear and to do the fronts is like normal someone hold pedal till it goes down and then bring it back up and repeat.
I was unsure about this myself but with a Vacula/Mityvac bleeder, solo job. Well I tried the rears with the key OFF, and they bled fine. The brakes were bled starting from rears then the fronts. I did do the 40 pumps on the brakes after bleeding, then refilled reservoir to MAX. Everything's fine.
