Default New To CL, question on importing

I am new to CL but im not new to forums just not car forums lol.

Anyways i did use the search function and couldnt find anything directly relating to importing the Aristos to the states. well at least a newer thread dated any newer than 10 yrs ago.

Im talking to a friend this week who has gone through tons of crap to legalize a couple jdm cars to the states get registered and everything, i also know he said sports car are usually harder or plain just not gonna happen in comparison to luxury/sedans.

So just wondering if anyone has any insight on making a aristo legal here, if its even possible, if it is kinda just wondering how much money/crazy **** you had to jump through. i'd be buying from canada and bringing it here so that way im saving the shipping trouble. so if its completly bunk and def. illegal no matter what without swappin crap then let me know and or if there is a legit way to do it and you have a site with info to go to or wanna PM me on some details it would be much appreciated!

It is not federally legal. People import them illegally and are able to get them registered, but ice could take them at any time. I could see still taking the risk for an r34 or something but not an aristo. The differences are minor. You can always engine swap. Being on the right side isn't that serious. I believe you can import stuff after it's 25 years old though as a classic.
