I have a 1999 gs300 with 117k mile the vsc off light came on today and I took of the battery poles to try and reset the ecu ... After which I started me car and it started for like no more than 3 secs and jus shut right off ... The check engine light is on but was on since I bought the car a Month ago

I heard rumor it might be my ecu ?

 

Did you pull the codes?
You won't know for sure until you pull the codes..it can be something simple as a gas cap.

 

I suggest you get that check engine scanned first to see what it is before jumping to conclusions. Knowing what codes it is throwing will help with diagnosing what is wrong.

There are a lot of threads on here that may help you. Doing a search is highly recommended . At this point, there are a number of things that could be wrong. The best advice that I can give is this. Good luck!
