Thanks Rich... I'm trying to decide wether to get 19's or 20's... But on the Blue GS the rims don't look that small.. And 19's usually look smaller on bigger cars.. I don't know what I should do...

No problem dude!!
I think the 19's look very good on this car. What are the roads like where you live?

Roads aren't the problem, well they are but they're not terrible.. I'm riding on 20's now, but I want new rims for next spring when my car goes into competitions.. I was thinking 19's because since the GS is my daily driver and I already bent my front left rim on my 20's I'd go with 19's and do a fat setup with a 40series up front.. But in the shows over here it's pretty much all about 20's..
You see I can't make up my mind.. I hate this crap, I don't think I've had this problem, or atleast this bad..

Just some stuff to consider when deciding between 19's & 20's:

19's are an odd size, so tires are going to run you just as much as tires for the 20's (if not a little more).

We just went to the wheel place on Saturday looking for 20's and you can get something like 225/40, and that's only 1/2" more wheel height than stock (giving you a total of 6 3/4" of rubber). Honestly, you can go with even more rubber if you're concerned with wheel damage. (I'm in CT where potholes and road construction is our middle name )

I'm in CT too.. And as for wheel damage I already have a bent front rim.. Also a 225 is to small and a 40 series tire on a 20" rim with a GS that's dropped about 3" I think that spells problems.. You see what you have to remember is stock wheels are not as wide and overall smaller.. If I put a 40 series tire on my wheels right now I wouldn't be able to move my car, let alone "more rubber"..... I'll proboly go with 19's and stagger it with 8.5 upfront with a 245/35. And for the rear 10" with a 275/30

It is all together possible that the wheel guy said 235, but whatever (not trying to argue). 3" drop is a different story. We're working with stock height. Be careful with the 19's w/ a 35 series tire too. That's the reason there are a set of 19's sitting in the garage right now (after being repaired 3 times!). My point with the post was stock wheel height is approx 26 1/4". If you're going to put 20's on a car you want to be able to drive, you have to have enough rubber to protect them. Our 19's (x9) are on 235/35 (I believe). That's only 25 1/2" of wheel height, meaning 6 1/2 " of rubber. A 235/40 on a 20 is 26 3/4" of wheel height, 6 3/4 " of rubber. There's a zillion comparisons you can make. Everyone does what they think looks better.

True indeed.... I figure if I go 245/40/19 then the diameter is the same as I have now with my 20's since I'm running 245/35.... That's what I'm going to do... If you look at my sig. at the bottom of my posts you'll see that my tires are right in the wheelwell.. But I don't rub so I'm ok...

sorry to jump in on ur conversation...but i am having the same sorta thoughts....im on l-tuned springs (1" drop i believe) and rollin on 19x9 and 19x10. Im using 245/35 up front and 275/30 in the rear. I was wondering what tires i would have to get that fatter cuz im afraid of denting my rims (without having to deal with rubbing). And also what type of tires should i get for longer lasting tread? because i have a 40 mile commute to work and tires are getting costly. thx fellas

o yea welcome Allison
