I watched my buddy at his shop do it, but I can't remember exactly what he did. He said it was kind of tricky/annoying. I bought 4 new rubber rings to hold the mufflers up but he did not want to unbolt the brackets due to the rust corrosion.

You mean the thick rubber O-rings's that hold the muffler up right above the tips? I just lift straight up on the muffler and then get a long flatblade or prybar and stretch the O-ring up and over the hook, there are two on each muffler, once you get one off the muffler will have more slop and you can get the next one easier.

I think that is how my guy did it when he changed the exhaust.

I finally got it off. It was a pain tho. The way I did it was really weird. Also, for those of u who can't find a way to get the hangers off from the midpipe, get some kind of lubricant and put it on the end of the metal piece. I used vegetable oil, and it slipped right off
