Brake, vsc, abs light and buzzing sound
Yes, I have search about this, but, could not find any solution to my problem. Those with this problem in the other threads, all did some sort of suspension mods.
Went to start my wife's 99 gs3 the other day. Upon start up, her vsc on/off light, brake light and abs light all came on. Also, there is a buzzing warning sound coming from the dash. Her brakes hardly even work. I haven't done anything to her car suspension wise. I've check the relays, fues' and speed sensor. They all seem fine. Her brake fluid is also good. Do the BMC or brake booster just quit working for no reason?

Easy way to check is to use a paper clip and short two wires in the diag port under the hood. Look for vsc and clear codes and it should give you the diagram.
Second; pull neg batt cable for 30 mins. Reattach and report back.
Lastly; when you acc the car instead of turning over the engine what do you hear?

I've done all of that. Had the battery unplugged all weekend, still there. I've tried to do the reset by using the paper clip. The lights started to blink in a sequence, but I don't understand it and couldn't find a way to figure it out. I don't hear anything when the key is in the acc position. Should I at least hear the abs unit?

When you start the car do you hear the BMC pumping to get up to pressure (accumulator)? It just sounds like a little electric motor running. It is common that motor goes bad in the 98-01 2GS and when it does all those lights you mentioned will come on and the buzzing noise is because there is no pressure for your brakes. That is why there is a buzzing noise coming from under your dash. Since you already put a new BMC unit in the car you can cut the plugs and re-wire but I do not know the diagram. How ever you can also switch out just the electric motor and use your old unit, if you can make sure that the motor is the problem.
I had this same problem with my car. The motor stopped working, so I pull out the unit and replaced the motor. No more problem. Hope this is helpful.

The car I got the 'new' unit from is an hour and a half away and I didn't think about the adapters being different. So I didn't grab it. I already have the new one installed and i really don't feel like taking it back out to swap out the motors. Although the job isn't hard, I just don't feel like taking it back out. If someone has a diagram of the abs wiring system, that would help me out a lot, so I could just hard wire it.

Did you get this sorted out? I am having similar issues on my 2002 SC430 (ABS, Brake, VSC, VSC off lights, beeping). Brakes work great though, just had them done (and this came on after the brake work).
