Question front suspension noise low speed

Hi Everyone,

After i got my RCA installed and my coil overs raised, i've noticed very apparent suspension noise coming from the front while going over bumps on low speeds.

I've checked the upper strut mount if it is tight... but the sound is there. I only hear this on low speeds in parking lots while going over cracked pavement.

Anyway, while my car was being raised by the shop, i notice they did 1 or 2 turns of the preload setting... while trying to raise the car. (there not suppose to do this!!!)

Question - if they increase the preload (tighten the spring), will it cause more noise?

I believe technically when increasing the preload, you'll also get a more stiffer ride.

The noise is annoying me! it kinda sounds like the bearings on my strut mount went bad on low speeds.

Please help!!!

BTW - i got STANCE coilver, EXACT RCA, with no finger gap all around.

Thanks!!!

Not sure if I have the answer but my car used to do exactly what you describe. I had Bilstein/L-sportline setup. I did almost a complet suspension and steering do-over and the noise disappeared. Unfortunately I did everything all at once so I don't know which item was causing the noise.

I changed: shocks (KYB), springs(L-tuned), lower ball joints, outer tie rod ends, steering rack bushings, lower control arms 1&2 and passenger upper control arm, (all OEM).

No more noise, car rides very nice but there is still a very slight highway shimmy sometimes, not always.

I am thinking of putting back the Bilstein/L-sportline setup this summer. They would at least tell me if it was the shocks or not.

Off topic: do you raise your ride height when you install RCA? Or are you supposed to lower it?
