I have been eying the DEPO tails but have heard from MANY people on how hot the resistors get and don't want to deal with that. I am rocking OEM 01+ tails and sometimes OEM is just so much less headache lol.
You can run the DEPO lights without resistors. Just take out the bulb in the instrument cluster.

you don't have too put the resistors on. i didn't put mine on and i disable the wire for the back light on the dash so i no longer have the back light on the dash.

Depo is a good brand of led tails. They hold up nice. No moisture and literally plug in play. I would rock in the 01+ OEM tails too.

Hmm.. never heard of that happening with the Depo's. Let's hope not.

I like those a bit more visually then my DEPO tails, but I have had the DEPO's on for like 2+ months now and gone through a few florida rain showers and washed the car plenty of times since and no condensation yet.

That sucks about yours leaking though, Like I said I kind of like the outter style more then the DEPO because it more closely resembles an OEM 01+

It's too bad to hear that they leak. They are a pretty good looking set.

Yep 01+ tails all the way. You can't beat an OEM Lexus part, nothing aftermarket even comes close in quality.

I always wanted to get the red LED tails for my IS300 but always worried about quality too.

thanks for the writeup, confirmed what I'd have expected.

also I like to run regular bulbs in the winter. it keeps the lights warm and the snow doesn't build up on them on the highway.

I recall reading that the JP tails were made by the same OEM manufacture for Toyota.. now these tails go for $1200-1500 so I guess the old adage.. you get what you pay for.

So the option racing tails are SONAR? and thy have this many issues? time for either 'insurance", JP, or regular 01+ tails...

there are some shady companies out there just trying to make a buck...

Contact the BBB?
