If its blue, modded and cheaper then other ones in your area, go for it. GS's vary very much based on area. My car is worth alot more in California then it is here in Denver. RWD plus clientelle and folks could care less for a modded RWD Lexus here.

I look at this car for myself a few weeks ago (online) and The price is right where it should be with the mods. If you want a modded Blue GS400, this car is a Deal. The market value Private sale price is $6800 and Dealer retail is $8700 (since it has low miles, maintenance all up to date i would start at the retail price. If you add up what he spent on the mods (atleast $4000 in upgrades)

If you want a "Already modded car" this is the car to get - If I was trying to get it, I would offer $10K.. since you never recoup all the money from mods.

You have to be real weary about things like this.. Maybe you need to ask him upfront why is there a Gap? I use to be a car buyer for major dealerships and i run up on stuff like this all the time. Usually when I see something like this no matter how clean or a great buy, I let it go..

This is a very good advice. I would do the same if you don't need or want a modded car.

I own both GS400 and GS430. Personally, for daily driving (Stock GS's) I prefer the GS430 over the 400 since the ride is smoother, better torque and more comfortable. But the GS400 is more fun to drive since its sportier, higher rev motor.. It depends on what you need or want..

I've had both. A sbm gs400 and now a black gs430.
Man I loved the color on my gs400 but the gs430 is definitely a step up from the 400. Get a 430 and paint it sbm!!! now you have the best of both worlds!!! I was actually planning on doing this but a new project came up so I have decided to sell my 430
You'll love either one though. Great cars.

hey guys, i thought about something and wanted to see what you guys thought....

When will the new 4th generation GS be released for sale? I googled it and it said Feb. 2012, so when the new 4th gen's come out, shouldn't the 2nd generation GS's get cheaper??

and a couple of you guys have said the GS430 is smoother and/or more comfortable, but what makes the 430 smoother/more comfortable than the 400? I thought the 400 & 430 had the same suspension?

Your are not going to see much of a change in price when the new one comes out, if any change at all!

The 2GS has already depreciated a lot and probably won't be too affected. Now, the 3GS is a different story.
