Default How to Put Door Panel Back On?

Alright, sounds like a stupid question.. but I've searched already and I decided to remove my passenger side door so I could have a look at the actuators.. I put everything back together and the stupid panel is pissing me off. Do you have to remove the green clips and put them back into the holes from the door shell or can you put the door panel back on with the green clips still in the back of the door panel?

I know you slide up to remove the door.. I went from the top down to try and put the door panel back on.. but there would be a gap.. what's the best way to do this..?

on the same topic.. i reconnected the cables to the door lock but now the car won't lock from inside.. only from the outside with the key -_-. i took it out, put it back in and made sure the connections were on correctly.. before i put the panel on, it works. once i put the panel onto the door shell, it stops working.
